Hi, I’m Emily, founder and wedding coordinator behind Emily Rose Events.
I’ve always been the organised one. The person with the plan, the backup plan and probably a list somewhere just in case.
It turns out that’s quite a useful quality when your job involves bringing together a venue, caterer, florist, photographer, band, transport, a hundred guests and two people who absolutely should not be worrying about any of it on their wedding day.
After years of working behind the scenes at weddings, I created Emily Rose Events to offer the kind of support I think makes the biggest difference: stepping in when the planning is done and making sure it all actually happens.
How I ended up here
My route into weddings wasn’t particularly conventional, but looking back, it makes complete sense.
I worked in hospitality before, during and after studying Fine Art at Kingston University and quickly realised I loved the pace, people and problem solving that came with events.
Over the years, I’ve seen weddings from pretty much every angle. I’ve worked front of house for catering companies, coordinated weddings at venues and later became Wedding & Event Manager at Minterne House here in Dorset.
I still occasionally dip my toe back into catering management too. Partly because I love it but also because I think there’s real value in experiencing weddings from different suppliers’ perspectives.
After more than 100 weddings and events, I’ve learnt that the best coordination often goes unnoticed. It’s anticipating what’s needed, spotting problems before they happen and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Why coordination?
Because I genuinely think you can plan your own wedding.
You don’t necessarily need someone making all the decisions for you or telling you what your wedding should look like.
But after months (sometimes years) of planning, you shouldn’t also have to run it.
That’s why I specialise solely in six week wedding coordination.
I get to know everything you’ve planned, bring your suppliers and timings together, work through the logistics and then manage the wedding itself.
You still get the wedding you’ve created.
You just get to experience it as the people getting married, rather than the people running the event.
The person behind the clipboard
I’m naturally organised, a little bit Type A and happiest when I know exactly what’s happening and when.
But I’m also a big believer that weddings shouldn’t feel like they’re running to a schedule.
The detailed timeline is for me and your suppliers. You should be able to spend too long chatting during your drinks reception, disappear for golden hour photos or have a speech run over without wondering what that means for everything happening next.
Away from weddings, life is a little less scheduled. I’m usually out exploring the Dorset countryside or coast, spending time with family and friends or walking my fox red Labrador Maisy.
Although, admittedly, there’s probably still a list involved somewhere.
What you can expect from me
A calm head, a very detailed plan and someone who cares about your wedding feeling like your wedding.
I’ll be the person asking the questions you haven’t thought of, making sure your suppliers have what they need and keeping an eye on everything happening behind the scenes.
And when the wedding day arrives?
You enjoy it. I’ll keep an eye on the rest.
