From the moment I met Pippa and Xander at Hamswell House, I knew their wedding was going to be something truly special. Nestled in the hills just outside Bath, Hamswell feels like a hidden escape—surrounded by rolling countryside so serene, it’s easy to forget you’re near the city at all. With its immaculately kept gardens and timeless charm, it’s the perfect backdrop for an elegant English summer wedding.
A Vision of Timeless Glamour
Pippa and Xander’s vision blended old-school glamour with a fresh, modern take on a summer celebration. Bright, joyful countryside florals added a playful edge to the classic styling, setting the tone for a day that felt both relaxed and refined.
From Church to Champagne
After a traditional ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Marshfield, guests made their way to Hamswell House where the celebration began. A talented friend of the couple DJ’d, setting an instantly welcoming tone. Champagne flowed—especially from the statement champagne tower—and guests admired Pippa’s elegant gown and simple bun. Oysters and caviar added a luxurious touch as they were served throughout the reception.
Refined Details, Relaxed Feel
Inside the marquee, every detail reflected the couple’s thoughtful approach. Long tables were dressed with soft napkins sourced by the bride, dotted with delicate florals in soft, uplifting tones. Overhead, wild greenery created a sense of bringing the outside in—perfectly echoing the natural beauty of the surroundings.
A Love-Filled Finale
As the evening unfolded, the energy only built. The dance floor was full, cocktails were flowing, and the atmosphere was one of pure celebration. Stylish, joyful, and intimate.
